Our beloved alma mater, Methodist College, Uzuakoli, will celebrate the centenary of her existence in 2023. This unique occasion in the College’s existence, not only presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate her achievements and experiences over the first 100 years; it is also a time to focus on the bright future that lies ahead.
We are determined to commemorate the proud achievements of UZUMECO, not only in the field of learning but in all endeavors of human existence. We, therefore, use this medium to request that you join us as we take inspiration from our great past to appreciate the present and signpost our future path
Methodist College, Uzuakoli, as we know it, means different things to different people. We exhort all Old Boys and Girls to get involved in the Centenary celebrations in any way they deem fit and to let us know what the College means to them. Please find out how you can get involved and share your experiences and memories in anecdotes, insights, and gestures that will be captured in posterity. We strongly urge you to use this opportunity to send out your prayers and good wishes to the alma mater and also share your visions for our second century.
To mark this milestone, the UMCOBA National Executive has called for the submission of names to be considered for the UZUMECO 100@100 list. This will be sieved to make. the cut for the top 100 alumni who have made the greatest contributions to the development of UZUMECO, UMCOBA, and society. That list will also be published in the Yearbook as a permanent record. The Yearbook will cover the first 100 years of the College. The intention is to include a list of all those who attended the College, irrespective of how long such an individual was at the College.
This listing will include the following details: Surname, Full first name, and initials; (in the case of Old Girls, it may be useful to indicate); Popular aliases, houses, and years in the College will also help for easier recognition. Please assist us by ensuring that your details are correct for this publication
In the run-up to the Centenary, we wish to secure the contact details of every Old Boy/Girl to keep everyone informed about events and activities to be held to celebrate the Centenary. A section at the end will be reserved for deceased alumni.
Please endeavor to keep your contact details current; in this case, your active phone numbers. Also, help us find Old Boys/Girls for whom we have no details on your various class platforms. (It may be useful to indicate in the case of Old Girls)) Note that the various class platforms shall be required to forward these compiled lists to the editorial desk of the Centenary Yearbook. Eventually, the key details will be made available to UMCOBA for easier contact.
